Why This Role Exists

We’re growing quickly and need a hands-on sales leader who can both close deals directly and scale a team to drive predictable growth. As Sales Director, you’ll carry an individual quota while leading Hivel’s mid-market and enterprise sales motion, building relationships with engineering leaders, driving adoption, and setting the foundation for a high-performing sales function.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry and achieve an individual quota by owning end-to-end sales cycles with mid-market and enterprise accounts

  • Build strong relationships with engineering leaders (CTOs, VPs, Directors) and position Hivel as a strategic partner

  • Lead and coach a small but growing sales team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Develop sales playbooks, processes, and enablement to improve win rates and shorten deal cycles

  • Partner with marketing to align campaigns, outbound motions, and pipeline-building activities

  • Drive accurate forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management in CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce)

  • Collaborate with product to provide market feedback and influence roadmap priorities

  • Represent Hivel at customer meetings, roundtables, and industry events

  • Champion modern sales practices, leveraging automation, data-driven insights, and best-in-class tools

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 1 - 1.5 years in a leadership role

  • Proven track record of achieving quotas and closing enterprise or mid-market SaaS deals

  • Experience managing or mentoring sales reps, with the ability to balance personal selling with team leadership

  • Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS sales motions, with experience selling to technical buyers (engineering leaders, CTOs)

  • Skilled in pipeline building, account planning, and enterprise deal execution

  • Confident communicator with executive presence, comfortable in renewal and expansion negotiations

  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM and sales tech stacks

  • Ability to thrive in a founder-led startup, hands-on, scrappy, and strategic when needed

Brownie Points

  • Experience selling developer tools, DevOps platforms, or AI SaaS solutions

  • Familiarity with US-based or global enterprise sales cycles

  • Exposure to structured sales methodologies ( like MEDDIC, MEDDPICC)
